Our Visit to the New Parkland Hospital in Dallas

The $1.3 billion Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas is nearly complete. According to a construction official, the Acute Care Hospital building is 98% finished. The project spans over 4 million square feet and stands as one of the largest hospital builds in the U.S. It’s designed to support better care and a brighter future for Dallas County.

Touring the New Parkland Hospital – a Healthcare Landmark

We visited the Parkland Hospital on July 22, 2014. Even though we could only see part of the 17-floor facility, the experience was unforgettable. Every hallway, room, and space showed an incredible level of detail and care. It was clear that this project was more than construction — it was a true investment in public health.

The hospital uses smart layouts, clean lines, and natural light to improve both comfort and efficiency. From patient rooms to trauma areas, everything felt modern and well thought-out. The  Parkland Hospital sets a high standard for how hospitals should feel and function.

VISTAMATIC® Panels in Action

We were especially proud to see more than 2,000 VISTAMATIC® Vision Panels installed throughout the Parkland Hospital. These panels improve privacy, reduce infection risks, and bring a polished look to the space. Seeing our panels in use across patient areas and high-traffic corridors was a powerful moment for our team.

Each panel plays a part in making this hospital safer, cleaner, and more private. Being part of such a forward-thinking facility makes us proud.

Smart Design at the New Parkland Hospital for Better Care

The New Parkland Hospital blends technology with human care. It features high-speed trauma lifts, electronic medical records, and flexible patient rooms. The hospital also aims for LEED Gold certification by using energy-efficient systems and sustainable materials.

We noticed that every part of the building serves a clear purpose. The design helps staff respond faster, reduces stress for patients, and keeps things running smoothly. It’s more than impressive — it’s inspiring.

Looking Ahead

The New Parkland Hospital is set to open in 2015. As the finishing touches wrap up, we look forward to seeing the hospital fully operational. This project has raised the bar for public hospitals, and we’re honored to have contributed.

Below are a few photos from our visit. Touring the Parkland Hospital gave us a deep appreciation for what’s possible when smart design meets a strong mission. We can’t wait to see the community benefit from this incredible facility.

Being part of the Parkland Hospital journey has been a proud moment for VISTAMATIC®. We’re excited for what’s ahead.
